Thanks to the Oradell PTA, author/Illustrator Matt Phelan will be paying our K - 4th grade students a visit on Tuesday, March 3rd, and author/illustrator Booki Vivat will be visiting with our 5th and 6th grade students on Friday, March 6th.
Mr. Phelan is an award winning author/illustrator who has illustrated books for a number of children's authors. In addition, Mr. Phelan has written and illustrated two picture books, four award winning graphic novels, and three chapter books of his own. Ms. Vivat is the author/illustrator of the popular Frazzled book series, which chronicles the daily life of sixth grader Abby Wu as she negotiates middle school. Ms. Vivat's books take a humorous look at the angst and the joys of this often tumultuous time in a young person's life, and are jam-packed with plenty of relatable moments for our fifth and sixth grade students. For more information on Mr. Phelan and Ms. Vivat's work please view the author presentations for both on the OPS Library Media Center home page. As part of our school-wide Week of Respect activities, we welcomed local Oradell author Kristina Elliot to the OPS Library Media Center to share her new book We All Have A Superpower with some of our students. Ms. Elliot read her book, answered questions and spoke to the children about finding that one quality or skill they possess that is their "superpower." We'd like to thank Ms. Elliot for her time and commitment to helping our students.
